For business owners and senior leaders who love golf
Six days. Sixteen people. Plenty to talk about.
A six-month leadership development experience built around golf.
A small group of business owners and senior leaders, some of the best golf courses in the North West of England, and time to talk properly about leadership, business and whatever else comes up.
Leadership Series 2027 · Sixteen places · April to August
What it is
Golf and leadership, side by side.
The Trajector Golf Leadership Series brings sixteen people together across six days in 2027. We play some exceptional golf courses, hear from an expert at each event and talk properly about leadership, business and the things you’re dealing with.
We’ll bring some useful ideas and a little structure. The rest comes from the group.
Most of it happens on the fairway and around the table.
Why golf
Golf gives us something most working weeks don’t. Time.
Four hours walking a course with someone is four hours of conversation. So is breakfast, the drive to the course, dinner and the gaps in between. That is hard to arrange anywhere else.
Golf also does what golf does. It tests you, it’s unpredictable, and you learn a lot about people by playing with them.
Sometimes that connects to leadership. Sometimes we’re just playing golf.
- Time
- Hours side by side, with no meeting to get to.
- Walking
- Conversation comes easily when you’re both looking down the fairway.
- Pressure
- Friendly, but real. You see how people handle it, yourself included.
- Recovery
- Everyone hits a bad shot. What happens next is more interesting.
- Observation
- A round tells you more about someone than a meeting does.
- Competition
- A light Order of Merit gives everyone something to play for.
Why leadership
Leadership gives the conversations somewhere to start.
Across the six days we’ll get into some of the questions that come with leading yourself, other people, teams and organisations. That’s our starting framework. You get a say in the priorities before you arrive, and once we’re together the group works on the issues that matter most, using the experience in the room.
Each event has a guest contributor too, an expert on that event’s themes. Clint Godfrey facilitates, and has spent a career working with senior leaders. The structure is light, and the group decides what gets talked about.

The group
16 people. Six days. One cohort.
The same sixteen people, every time. That’s the point.
The group stays together. Across the series you spend real time on the course, at dinner and on the way to the next tee. By the end you know each other properly.
We’re putting the group together carefully, because the mix matters. We want people who will contribute something as well as take something away.

What it looks like
Three stays. Two days of golf each.
Each event follows a similar pattern, so you know what to expect.
Day one
Breakfast and a catch up, then golf. After golf, a session with the event’s guest contributor, an expert on its themes from sport or business, followed by food, a few drinks and a night at the hotel.
Day two
Breakfast, then another discussion and a chance to reflect on the day before. Then a second course, prize presentations and home.
In between
A couple of months pass before the next one, with an online check-in for the whole group in between. Ideas get tried out at work, and the same sixteen people pick it up again.
The courses
Some of the best golf in the North West.
Six courses on the North West coast, from the Wirral to the Fylde, played in three pairs. Three have hosted The Open.
Royal Liverpool
Wallasey
Royal Lytham & St Annes
Fairhaven
Formby
Royal Birkdale
Dates and venue pairings for 2027 are provisional while final arrangements are confirmed.
A little competition.
The six rounds build towards a season-long Order of Merit, with a Grand Final at the end.
Guest contributors
Three experts worth listening to.
Each event has one guest contributor, three in all, and each is an expert on that event’s themes. They’re top performers from sport or business, and they share ideas you can use: what they’ve learned, how they lead, and what to take back into your own organisation, practice or team. There’s time to ask questions, and the conversation carries on over dinner.
We’ll be inviting people from:
- Elite sportPeople who know what performing under pressure involves.
- Business and entrepreneurshipPeople who will be honest about what went wrong as well as what went right.
We’ll announce our contributors as they are confirmed.
Who it’s for
Business owners and senior leaders who love golf and want something different.
Founders, directors, partners, senior managers and senior professionals. People with real responsibility for an organisation, a team or a budget.
You also need to be able to play. There’s a competition running across all six rounds, so we’re looking for people who play regularly, are used to competitions and can keep a round moving.
You’ll probably fit if you:
- love golf and enjoy good company
- carry significant responsibility for people, a business or a budget
- are curious about leadership but tired of the jargon
- have sat through enough training to be sceptical
- would value proper time away from work to think and talk
- want something different from a networking event or a golf day
And you’ll bring something to the group as well as take something from it. The group sets its own agenda, so your experience matters more than your job title.
For your organisation
Taking this to your organisation?
You may want your organisation to fund your place. That’s a reasonable thing to ask. It’s properly designed, professionally facilitated leadership development, with three expert guest contributors and a peer group outside your own business.
We’ve put the case on one page you can share.
Interested?
Register your interest and we’ll arrange a conversation. That’s how everyone joins. It’s a chance for you to see whether it’s your sort of thing, and for us to see whether you’d be right for the group.
